Wave of Mutilation, the Pixies, off the album Doolittle. What can I say. First Doolittle is an amazing album . . . a top 10 in the last 15 years, and top 50 perhaps all time. This is the Pixies album, if you only have one, buy this one. This is also the first album they had some hits on. I had a lot of trouble picking the first song to play off this album, they are all so good. I decided to go with a hit, but not a big one. Wave of Mutilation is a perfect song. A song, you can play, and listen to over and over. Perfectly put together, from vocal to music. There are not many like these . . . Smells Like Teen Spirit, A Day in the Life, Satisfaction, songs like that. The scary part is, the Pixies have a different "UK Surf" version of this song off the Pump Up the Volume soundtrack (mighty good soundtrack I might add; Follow the link and it will give you an option to play a snippet from it), which is just as good. I might end up playing every song off this album.

This song is also the song that remind me of a friend who committed suicide by driving below the low tide line and waiting . . ..
